About MP-STUDIO: A Leading Visual Arts Studio
MP-STUDIO is among the pioneers of light art in Europe. The company executed Bulgaria’s first 3D mapping projection on a building in 2011, on the façade of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre. It is also the creator of the country’s first interactive multimedia dance in 2012. Subsequently, MP-STUDIO began realizing numerous groundbreaking projects outside Bulgaria, many of which were the first of their kind globally: the first projection on a cathedral in Belgium (Liège, 2013 and 2014), the first interactive laser and video system for synchronized projection onto a rotating three-dimensional object (2015), and the first 3D mapping in a cave (Han Cave, Belgium, 2015).
In 2015, the studio participated in the first-ever world championship within the Festival of Lights in Berlin, winning first place with an original 3D mapping show created for the Brandenburg Gate. After earning several more awards at the festival, MP-STUDIO became the main production partner of the Festival of Lights International in 2018, with Marin Petkov serving as its art director.
In 2021, the company launched the LUNAR Festival of Lights in Bulgaria, a light arts festival that attracted over 600,000 visitors, making it the most attended event in the country.
Over its 15 years of existence, MP-STUDIO has established itself as one of the most successful studios in the field, with over 600 projects worldwide, spanning Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Qatar, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, the UAE, Romania, Russia, the USA, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, France, the Netherlands, Croatia, Switzerland, Japan, and more.
MP-STUDIO creates original content for the facades and interiors of some of the most iconic buildings in Europe and the world, including Al Wasl in Expo City Dubai, the Brandenburg Gate, the Bolshoi Theatre, Berlin’s TV Tower, the Emir of Kuwait’s operetta, Han Cave, Rome’s City Hall, Maraya in Saudi Arabia, the Brussels Stock Exchange, the Noorderkerk Church in Amsterdam, Mimara Museum in Zagreb, and many others.
